Custom e-Business Software, Applications and Integration
Data-Core Systems provides Microsoft .NET based technology solutions for businesses through total project life
cycle services. These services are executed within the customers’ development framework or within Data-Core Systems
project framework. Our premier analysis and design processes have driven our success at creating mission critical
applications and custom software systems in both the public and private sectors. The application integration component
of the .NET framework allows disparate applications, which could be written in different programming languages and built
on different architectures, to communicate with each other. The bulk of today's critical data and application
(especially transactional) programs reside on and use existing enterprise systems. Application integration allows Web
clients and servers to work together with this data and these application programs, seamlessly linking the strength
of the Internet with the strength of the enterprise.
Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Solutions
- Business Intelligence Work Approach
The summary activities consist of: developing an in-depth understanding of the
customers business and data, creating a data warehouse or data mart and finally
developing a vehicle for information delivery.
The initial activities are divided into three phases consisting of Discovery, Data Analysis and Develop Model.
A preliminary warehouse data model is derived from the requirements and data inventory. A section of the
model is identified as the basis for a prototype, which is constructed in Microsoft SQL Server. Then, using
Microsoft Transformation Services, the warehouse is then populated from the actual databases according to ETL
(Extract, Transform, Load) rules which are good enough for a prototype but not as fully developed as they
would have to be for the a production system.
The prototype serves to validate the current understanding of the data and to demonstrate the different tools available
against data which are familiar to the client. The customer is able to evaluate the OLAP and DSS tools and decide which ones
are appropriate for the company.
The prototype is now ready to be refined into the final data warehouse or data mart.
- MS Based Information Delivery Solutions
The final activity involves implementing the information delivery solution that was selected
during the prototyping phase of the data warehouse implementation. This could be in the form of
pivot tables or pivot charts to be used in Microsoft Excel, setup of Data Analyzer or the creation
of a custom web based interface. Another delivery option is the implementation of Microsoft
Reporting Services.Microsoft Reporting Services is a comprehensive, server based solution that
enables the creation, management and delivery of both traditional, paper-oriented reports and
interactive, Web-based reports. The server can receive data from a variety of data sources,
including data cubes.
