A Travel Management Company
The application is a comprehensive travel management software with modules on Booking management, Itinerary and Package building, online train reservation, Car and Hotel reservation, Travel Agents including commission, online credit card payment, Ticketing, etc. The application is available in the desktop version for travel agents, Web site version for Public, Co Brands and Agents, and Web Services API for Partners. The company has outsourced the support, maintenance and testing of their applications to Data-Core. Data-Core’s offshore team works in coordination with Data-Core’s onsite testing team at the customer site.
The customer has redesigned the application and migrated to J2EE from CORBA in a major project. Thereafter it introduces enhancements and maintenance releases regularly. Data-Core’s team of quality analysts and testers offshore perform functional, regression, cross browser and integration testing for these new project and maintenance releases on an ongoing basis. Both black box and white box testing is being performed with the Web Services API requiring mainly white box testing. Test cases are prepared from the requirements documents and the baseline application. The test results are logged in Test Director Quality Center and defects are assigned to the concerned person onsite.
Our tasks in the project included:
- Gathering domain knowledge, functional requirements of the application/s from client
- Making Test strategies and plans and finalizing processes with client
- Transferring knowledge to offshore team
- Transitioning Software Testing project from onsite to offshore
- Performing Functional and Regression Testing
